updated covid-19 policies

These are uncertain times for everybody, but rest assured that we will remain open as an essential business in order to continue to service our community and their pets. Although our policies have changed, rest assured you will receive the same quality service that you always have. Our clinic employs safe social distancing practices, with strict mask enforcement, hand washing, and sanitizing. We have moved to a more curbside approach, but do ask that you remain near the clinic throughout your pet's appointments. When you arrive at our clinic, we have benches and tables set up out front; feel free to come up to these and wait for our assistance. For both your safety and ours, we request that you do not enter the clinic unless asked. We will take your pet back into our treatment area to perform their examination or any other services they require, and our doctors will come out to you to discuss your next steps or to answer any questions you have. We will update our policies as more information comes out, but feel free to give us a call any time with your questions or concerns.

Vaccinations
vaccination info.

Vaccinations and regular wellness visits are an important part of your pet’s health. At Pico Veterinary Clinic we feel that preventing illness is a far preferable alternative to treating illness, so we offer complete diagnostic and wellness services including routine physical exams, parasite prevention, and immunizations all specifically catered to your pet’s needs.

WHY vaccinate

By staying on top of your pet's immunizations, you can keep them healthy by minimizing their risk to dangerous and contagious diseases. Whether you have a cat or dog, there are several core vaccinations that we recommend that we find are common in this area. There are additional vaccines that we recommend on a case-by-case basis, so rest assured that we will tailor your protocol specifically for your animal.

Spay & Neuter
Spay & Neuter info.

At Pico Veterinary Clinic we believe the decision to spay or neuter your pet is an excellent choice for your companion’s long-term health and well being. Spaying or neutering early can help reduce the risk of many health complications including urinary disorders and multiple types of cancers.

WHY SPAY & NEUTER

Spaying is the procedure used for female pets. Neutering refers to the procedure used for male pets. These are ways of providing birth control for dogs and cats by removing reproductive organs. Through spaying or neutering, you can help your pet have a happier, healthier and longer life. In both cases the operation is performed while the pet is under anesthesia.

House Calls
covid updated policies

Due to current circumstances, we are not offering home services right now. We are very sorry for any inconvenience this has called and will be sure to update whenever we are able to offer these services again. Please give us a call for any more information about our COVID-19 policies.

HOUSE CALLS INFO

Bringing a pet to the veterinarian’s office can be a challenge for pet owners with limited mobility, restricted transportation, or commitments at home that make outside errands and other activities difficult. Pet owners with multiple pets or very large dogs may also have difficulty bringing their pets in for examinations and other veterinary care, and some pets simply don’t do well in a traditional office setting. In our continuing efforts to offer the best veterinary care to all of our clients and their pets, we are pleased to offer house-call services to accommodate special needs.

HOUSE CALL benefits

House calls permit us to bring our highly qualified staff and medical expertise right to your home. Pets that are fearful or otherwise stressed by coming to our office can benefit from being examined in their own environment, where they are likely to feel more secure and calm. This permits us to better evaluate behavior and overall demeanor in a more relaxed and natural setting. Very young, sick, or elderly pets or those that don’t tolerate transportation well can also benefit from our house-call services, as well as pets that don’t get along well with other animals and may become very stressed in our practice’s waiting room.

X-rays (radiology)
PET X-RAY INFO

Radiography is a valuable diagnostic tool in veterinary medicine. As we continually strive to offer the highest quality medicine and diagnostic testing, we are pleased to offer radiology services as a means of providing excellent care to our patients.

A radiograph (sometimes called an x-ray) is a type of photograph that can look inside the body and reveal information that may not be discernable from the outside. Radiography can be used to evaluate almost any organ in the body, including the heart, lungs, and abdominal organs, as well as the bones.

X-RAY EXPLAINED

Radiography is painless, safe, and completely non-invasive, and it uses only very low doses of radiation. Because the level of radiation exposure needed to perform radiography is very low, even pregnant females and very young pets can undergo radiography.

It is imperative that any health issues your pet has be diagnosed correctly and as quickly as possible, which is why we pride ourselves in offering your pet nothing but the best in modern radiological technology and expertise.

Laboratory testing is a valuable diagnostic tool in veterinary medicine. As we continually strive to offer the highest-quality medicine, we are proud to include in-house diagnostic laboratory services as a means of providing excellent care to our patients.

PET LABORATORY INFO
